I couldn’t be more baffled. This article about students taking drugs to “enhance” their mental abilities is beyond absurd. It reminds me so much of the many sports figures who have turned to drugs to put themselves ahead of the curve. They don’t even repent. It has become a part of the cultural landscape. It’s become a given. How do we get off this train?
And to have professors and researchers who are in agreement with the idea of students taking drugs is beyond my current mental state. I don’t understand it! Taking a drug to cram for some exam is a good thing? Huh? What? It’s a clear indication that we’ve completely forgotten the whole point of education, of living. If the point of education was to get the highest exam scores and be at the top of every one of your classes, at least in terms of grades, then maybe, just maybe, that would make sense. We’ve clearly lost our way.
Please help me understand.
